Kylie Minogue is reportedly ahead of schedule with the recording of the new album, with eight songs already recorded. Kylie suprised her record label, EMI by bringing out handful of recorded and finnished tracks even though the album is due until much later in 2010. The album has been said to be out this summer with the first single scheduled for spring. According to sources, those upbeat tracks were all produced by Stuart Price. Kylie's album is only half ready right now and she has still quite a few producers to possibly work with. The only track heard from the new album was "Better than Today" that she performed on her previous tour.
She may be a superstar everywhere but the United States, but American audiences were the first to get a sneak preview of Kylie Minogue's 10th studio set on her recent U.S. tour. The happy-go-lucky disco-pop of "Better Than Today" is a good benchmark for the new album, according to insiders, which sees the Australian star going back to basics after 2007's eclectic "X." That album-which sold 462,000 copies in the United Kingdom, according to the Official Charts Co.-featured multiple songwriting collaborations, but the new record is largely co-written with British singer/songwriter Nerina Pallot and produced by Stuart Price, most famous for his work with Madonna. Producers listed behind Kylie's new material are Biffco, Xenomania, Calvin Harris, Scissor Sisters and Greg Kurstin. "Kylie makes pop records," Parlophone's Leonard says. "What we're trying to achieve is an album that has a sound and feel all the way through. We've got the people and songs in place to do that." "X" only sold 38,000 copies stateside, according to Nielsen SoundScan, but Leonard expects the United States to be a priority this time around, after rave reviews for her debut American tour. "She's had sporadic success there before," he says, "but there's a lot of anticipation in the U.S. for Kylie to deliver this record."
Keri Hilson’s sophomore album could be hitting shelves sooner than we all thought, with the diva’s label Interscope telling Billboard that they’re aiming for a Memorial Day (May 31) release date.
The album will be preceded by a new single, tentatively due in March, but if things go according to plan we could see the song even earlier.
Joining Keri’s sophomore set will be the usual suspects of Timbaland, Danja and Polow Da Don, along with some new faces including Jeff Bhasker and rapper Drake.
“We’re just getting into this,” says Interscope urban music head DJ Mormile. “But we already have an idea of what we want to do. This album will continue the evolution of Keri, building off the hits ‘Knock You Down’ and ‘Turning Me On,’ which helped define her. This new album will be ‘Turning You On’ times 10.”

Nicole Scherzinger is throwing herself into her solo career in a bid to get over her recent break-up.
The Pussycat Dolls frontwoman split from Formula One star Lewis Hamilton earlier this month (Jan10) after a two-year relationship.
But instead of remaining downbeat about the split, Scherzinger is focusing on her music - she's teamed up with Ne-Yo to produce tracks for her upcoming solo album.
He says, “Nicole is in a state of liberation right now so the tracks are very free. She is in a place where she is happy to be alive and the tracks are definitely expressing that.
“The whole album is going to be a pressure release - a great big exhale - and I’m happy about that. She has a lot of emotions after splitting up with Lewis. But it’s like taking an eagle and giving it back its wings.”
Jazmine Sullivan is shooting for a summer release for her sophomore project. Confirmed track names include "Blow", "Vanity 6", and "You Get On My Nerves" which was produced by Ne-Yo.
